Lueko taping help!

Post by Carole »

It has been a long time since I posted or even peeked in but I need help with taping- our OT is using lueko taping similar to kineso taping on Kaitlyn. My problem is that getting it off is terrible she screams and it leaves her skin red- it odes not bother her going on or being on any tips? I remember something about milk of magesia but don't remember what the tip was- this is our first experience with taping and it is helping her winging. But she does not want to put it on knowing how hard it is to get off- we have tried oiling it and soaking it with no luck. thanks!

My daughter had to have the taping done too, and the therapist always rubbed Milk of Magnesia all over her arm where the tape would be. Once it was dry, then she put the tape on. We never had to pull the tape off, it just slowly came off over a week's time. Maybe your child is allergic to that type of tape?

Have you tried using a spray such as Dissolv-It to remove the tape. You can find it at Walmart or Home Depot, and it does not irritate the skin. You spray it on, wait ~30 seconds, then remove the tape. You can spray a second time to remove the sticky residue form the tape. Hope this helps.

I will try these ideas- anyone have more experience with taping of any kind? I don't think she is allergic it is only slightly red under tape then fades quick no rash
