Sweating too much and another embarrassment
Hi! I got obpi and I have a friend with the same problem. I told him about this sight and I hope he will visit here. He and I both sweat a lot. I see people at the bus stop who are much much heavier than me and they are'nt sweating but the sweat is pouring off me and my shirt is soaked. My friend has the same problem. Do any of you notice that you sweat more then the average person. I have to rap my pillow with a towel and lay a towel on the bed over the sheet because I sweat a lot when I lay on the bed and it causes me to wake up during the night. When I noticed that he has the sweats bad too, I figured it must be tied in with the nerve damage. I also noticed that when he walks his feet point out and he doesn't lift his feet much when he walks. I have the same problem. The most embarrassing thing is that I couldn't get full control of my bowel movements until I was about 12 years old. Even at age 12 I was still getting a line in my shorts if you know what I mean. I guess that is pretty embarrassing but is that a part of the disability or just an emotional problem? Thanks! This site is great!

I don't know if the sweating and bowel control are related to the injury but my son Gavin who is almost 12 has had BOTH these difficulties - the bowel control is much better now - he wipes his butt much better now!
but the sweating is phenomenal - his head gets wet through when he exercises - at least you know you're not alone!

There is a sweat disease thing that you can be treated for, I cant remember what it is called but if you bring up the sweating issue to your regular dr they can perscribe a med that will help to reduce the sweating.
Hope that helps you,
Amy

Re: Sweating too much and another embarrassment
I started having excessive head sweating after a sympathectomy and it was excessive!!!
Dr.Neilson in texas did ETS and stopped my head sweating!!!I flew out one day and flew home the next!
I have chest sweating just as bad but don't know if had it before seeing him?
If you want his web site let me know?
It helped alot!
