Boston Monday Aug 11th

Post by admin »

Ella will be having her first MRI on Monday the 11th in Boston. After the MRI we will meet with DR Waters to discuss the results and secondary surgery. Wish little Ella Bella good luck. I hear she won't be too happy after the sedation. =(
Anyone else in Boston that day?

Just wanted to let you know,
I have two little ones who have had the sedation for MRI's. They both came out of it beautifully. Were pretty sleepy for a while but no complaints. They were 3 months (my bpi baby) and my other daughter had an mri at 31 months and an eeg with sedation at 36 months. They should give them something (either gas or liquid) to put them to sleep and then start the iv. Our doc also used a relatively new anesthesia that wears off in about 15 minutes, once they bring them back out of it of course.
Good luck.

Hey Krista!
I can't offer any experiences about the mri and sedation but I just wanted to say good luck to Bella Ella ("beautiful Ella" in spanish). I will email you this week. Take care and hugs to you both.

Hi Krista - scary stuff for mommies. Will you be able to sit in the room with her? What comfort that gave me... don't have any metal on you.

Bring a good book or a sack of magazines... Maia was sedated and was in there for about 2 1/2 hours and when she woke up she was really fine. Of course a Barney baloon helped!

big hugs, it'll be over soon,

Fancine,
Yes, I can sit in the room with her. I think Jeff and I want about an hour each with her. I think I remember the MRI nurse telling us that it was okay to switch, but if not...I will go in with her.
Great idea on the balloon. I will have one ready for her. Maybe a Blue's clues balloon or SpongeBob. I know it will be over soon...I cannot say how fast I wish this time would go by. Bring me to Aug 12th and I will be happy now. =)
I have such a long weekend to prepare for with my depos being on Friday and leaving for Boston Sunday.
UGH!
Well, time for bed.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words and all of your thoughts.

Brandie,
Thank you for the info. I guess I am going in then. Glad that your daughters MRI went well.
