My boyfriend was in mva 15mths ago and suffered nerve damage..had another nerve conduction study done yesterday which showed the deltoid,c5,6 to be dead..they r saying surgical exploration may be appropriate..but ortho surgeon is leaning towards shoulder fusion.. for more comfort.. thinking nerve grafting would be usless seeing he is 32...any comments would be great....

My personal opinion:
If EMG's are showing nothing after 15 months, surgery may be the answer. They can't really tell until they get inside. In our case, total avulsions. But, I know that nerve graft/transfer surgery is best done within 4-6 months of injury. Good Luck. New things are happening in this field slowly but surely.
