I was just wondering if anyone is going to camp this summer?? I am 23 and my parents would like to go. I would kind of like to go by myself so that I HAVE to interact with other people (I tend to be shy when I am in unfamiliar teritory with people whom I don't know). Any advice?? Thanks

Your parents would be most welcome and they will meet other parents who are supporting their son/daughter with tbpi.
I am adult/obpi and I am working on the Camp with other members of the board. Ryan is like you young adult and his Mom and Dad are coming to camp.
This will mean a great deal to you to meet other adult/tbpi/obpi who also cope with the daily challenges you face and to support you. Please consider coming we will have a special place to meet and roundtable just for tbpi. Liz is coming from England so you will get a chance to meet her... and others who truly understand ....
Your parent will get lots information and support.
The medical Panel on Friday night has so much information for both tbpi and obpi as the doctors treat both.
I hope you will come to camp and I look forward to meeting you along will all of the other adults who are attending.

Re: camp?
Hi Courtney,
This is Ryans mom, we were at camp 2 years ago and made some wonderful friends. The young adults and their parents received so much information and support from everyone involved. I know you and your parent will benefit a lot from meeting other adults with BPI. We can't wait to meet you and your parents and help you get over your shyness.
See you soon,
Karen

Re: camp?
Thanks Karen & Kathy! I think that I will bring one or both of them with me. I think that the camp sounds like a great place for me, as well as others! I have never met anyone with this type of injury before and I think that in itself would help a great deal! I am looking forward to it and hope to see you there! Thanks for the support!
