one mom who had the bpi child first, told me that she REALLY noticed the difference when she started with the baby food. She would hold the unaffected hand with one of her hands, and feed with the other. Her second child had her WEARING the baby food for days!!! She kept asking people "what do you do with the second hand?!" hahhahahahhaaaa
just enjoy!

Re: Strange thoughts
My BPI child was our fourth and I remember telling my husband...joking of course that at least the cookie bill would be less because he wouldn't need a cookie in both hands. But it ended up not working that way, because he would hold that little cookie in his affected hand till he finished his other cookie and then he would transfer it. I think it was the fourth child factor...he was afraid we would run out !!!
Re: Strange thoughts
Although my son will be the only child we have, I still find myself holding other babies in the family the same way I did with Michael by holding the shoulder and arm in a supportive manner. I also find myself doing the same thing with coats and jackets with other young children. It's a hard habit to break even if the child isn't yours.
