Hello,
We just got back from TCH. My son had his 6 week post op checkup from his bicept surgery. He wore the extension splint for six weeks and his arm is almost straight. Less than 5 degrees. We took his splint off yesterday and I can see him reaching and extending for things. He would not do that before. Now he can start therapy but just rom no weight bearing or strenghening for another six weeks. He can go swimming so he is happy about that.
For those of you going to TCH, the clinic is now on the 16 floor in the New Building. The waiting room is huge and spacious. The only clinics are BPI and Learning Support services. Once you sign in they give you a beeper (like when you go to a restuarant) When the lights start to blink, then they tell you to go through the orange doors. We did not have a long wait. The rooms are bigger and newer. Only thing, I did not see any toys in the new examination rooms, so bring your kids favorite toy or candy.
Best of luck to all those going to TCH this week.
