When I got my hair cut yesterday, the beautician mentioned to me that my hair was thicker on one side than the other, and I said, "let me guess -- the left side is thinner, right?" "Correct," she said.
That's my obpi side. Amazing.
Is this something else to blame on the bpi?
Anyone else with this?

Ok as we are talking hair - another ? for you all,
When Gavin was born he had VERY dark hair, when he was about 4 weeks old, we noticed that he had developed one streak of totally WHITE hair at the back of his neck, he's nearly 12 now and STILL has it, except that now it is up towards the crown of his head, but still as white as anything.
I often wondered if it was that old " hair gone white overnight with shock" tale.
I would LOVE to know if any other obpi or tbpi's have this phenomenon too.

I have been a hairdresser for ten years. Just recently quit to go back to school. I will definately try to do some research on this for everyone!! I have a few contacts I can try to get a hold of. It might take me a while but I can definately find out!! I have left obpi(sitting here feeling my hair) *LOL* I have always heard the white patches of hair were actually like birthmarks. I'll look into this!! Just thank god our hair under our armpits isn't thicker and longer on one side than the other!! It's bad enough shaving as it is!!!

I have come to believe that each child born comes with a small invisible paintbrush and a bottle of gray ink. They start as babies painting just a few of their parents hairs gray, then a strand, then a lock and then a shock! After 5 children I am experiencing a total "white-out" on my scalp! I think my OBPI daughter brought a spray gun with her rather than a small invisible brush.
I don't notice any difference in her hair thickness from one side to the other.

thankfully I was once a blonde and so now convince everyone that the white hairs I have are actually highlights from the hairdresser !

It is hard for me to tell I always had a head full of curls when I was younger and a lot of hair...
I checked and its a bit thinner but nothing you can really notice...
about the white hair....
I think I gave my Moms red hair a bit of white... my husband is almost all white (and he had such black hair) that began before we were thirty...hmmmmm
and as for me I am still a faded redhead...like Karen it looks like I highlight it ... but some of my kids are getting a bit of grey...hmmm maybe we give those around us grey hair... LOL....

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

my hair is thinner on the bpi side and resists styling (like i can style it anyway lol) but back in the 80's when i (and everyone else!) had a perm it never took as well on the bpi side and fell out faster. My hairdresser said she noticed this on old ladies who had strokes too.......if i look at 2 hairs from opposite sides under my son's microscope the bpi side hair is noticeably thinner.
i don't have a single grey hair and neither does my 68 yr old mum....we are both mousy blondes. I heard dark hair goes grey earlier....Peter (black hair) is 11 yrs younger than me and has a big white spot on the back of his head, he's always had it and his mum thinks it was a birthmark. He got called 'badger' at school and it gets bigger all the time.
