Hi I am also in California, Lake Tahoe, to be exact. Our son is 1 now and hasn't had to have any surgery. He didn't have any biceps until 4 months. His anterior deltoid and scapula was also affected. He is doing well now but still cannot suppinate his hand, he can't fully abduct is arm and for some reason he can't touch his ear. His hand and wrist where always ok as was with your little one. Oh, and we have seen Dr. Huhn and Dr. Hentz at Stanford.
Joshua, I would be interested in the Sonoma Picnic in July. How do I get on your mailing list?

Re: California Guestbook
My daughter is almost six and we live in Santa Barbara. Dr. Hoffer did her muscle/tendon transfer and she had great results. She also had an Osteotomy done from a local doctor here in SB. She does receive therapy through CCS, and we've been very happy with the therapist shes had for the past year. But with anything, you get both the good and the not so good. We've visited with Dr. Stevonovich at the LA Childrens Hospital and have found him to be very knowledgeable on BPI and he may be doing the CAPS surgery on her in the summer. We met with the doctors from TCH last summer at the San Diego BPI picnic, although I liked Dr. Nath and so did my ex-husband, we decided to stay in California to be closer to her surgeons. Our experiences have been good with all the doctors, and I've done research on all, some are just in the public eye more then others but that doesn't make them any better. It really depends on your own experience and which doctor you are comfortable with.

Re: California Guestbook
Fontana, CA. I was suppose to go there this weekend to see the Nascar races. Do you ever go? I work for a raceteam for CART racing and just went to the Long Beach Grand Prix a few weeks ago. Anyway back to the topic, I hope all goes well for your son and that you do try and see the doctors here in CA. It never hurts and I've met so many other CA families that don't post here (mostly because they never heard of this network) so it is nice to meet people locally too.
Take Care.
