I'm new to this site, and I have found it useful. Also, Thanks Susan!
I have a 9 years old daughter with a bpi. We have just recently (due to my own research)learned about the surgery available at TCH. I have just placed my first phone call to Lisa, and I am eagerly awaiting her return call.
Right now, I am looking for other families of children with a bpi in the South Mississippi or Gulf Coastal area. I would like to start a support group or join an existing one if possible.

Re: Support Groups
Hi Cecelia, I saw your post and I wanted to introduce myself - sorry I do not live in Mississippi but hope you find the support that you are looking for.
My name is Christy and I also have a nine year old daughter who has a left BPI. We live in Texas now, but for years I too was unaware of all of the surgery available - and just found this sight within the past year. The support that I have found through the friends here has been so helpful to me. It still amazes me that there are other families out there just like our family, struggling with the same issues as we have been struggling with for years - because I had always thought that my daughter was pretty unique (she is but you know what I mean!). I have learned much new information here but most importantly I have learned that just like all of our children are different, their injuries and how we choose to help them be the best they can be may also be different. I hope that you continue to find the support and friendship here and I wish you and your family the best.
