Hi Mitch..the chatroom you found is one I set up about a year ago for the TBPI Group, but after a few of us tried it out, we decided it was too unstable and had too many annoying pop-up window ads. If I remember rightly, it will only allow 5 people to 'chat' 'cos I am far to mean and tight fisted to pay for the full version which allows more people!!

We did have another one set up which can be reached from a link on the TBPI Group message boards but none of us could get ourselves organised enuff to arrange any chat sessions...we just go to the AOL rooms now if just a couple of us want to 'talk'

If any of you guys want to you use it tho, be my guest! :0)

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

I thought it looked familiar!
We used to chat regularly but when I emigrated to NZ the time differences got too complex for our poor old brains-I'm 12 hours ahead of the Brits and 18 or so hours ahead of you guys across the pond-when we chatted it was 7am in the morning here, evening in the UK and lunchtime in the US-then daylight savings would happen and everyone would be late-or early, or not there at all......
If anyone wants to chat post a time on this board or the UK one and someone will probably turn up-if I'm awake I'll come too :0)
btw, Francine has a chatroom she'll probably let you use if you ask her, it probably holds a few more people than five......
