Swelling of knuckles

My knuckles are pretty swollen the last couple of days, is there cause for concern? The burners are especially painful in the knuckles and o/s of hand.

I manipulate my fingers and hand almost everytime I sit down without something in my good hand. Also I wear an isotoner glove on my bum hand all the time.
