How to Post an Image

There are several websites available to host images for posting to forums. However, for the purposes of explaining how to post an image in this tutorial, Postimage.org will be used as an example on the Mac operating system. The steps used for this example will be similar for other sites and operating systems, but there may be slight differences. If you need further help please let us know.

Step 1
Locate the images on your computer that you wish to post on the forum. Then visit postimage.org. You can choose to upload the images without logging in, or you can create an account (recommended) which will allow you to access your uploads in the future.

Step 2
Click "browse" and locate the files on your hard drive. You can select more than one image by holding down the command key on a Mac or the control key on Windows while you select your images. Then click "choose".

Step 3
Under the resize dropdown menu select "640x480 (for message boards)." If you are logged in you have the option of filing the image into a gallery. Once you have selected all your options click "Upload It."

Step 4
You will be taken to an "Upload Complete" page. Copy the "direct link" to your clipboard.

Step 5
Navigate to the forum topic you wish to reply to or create a new topic. Click the "img" button above the text editor. This will place the image tag in the text editing box.

Step 6
Paste the direct link within the opening and closing image tags, add any accompanying text, and preview your post to make sure everything looks good. Then click "submit".
