I never knew that they could actually go in just to lengthen the arm. I'd be too scared to ever do anything like that. You have to be careful because once they go in and start working on your arm, you never know what could happen. Such as, hit a nerve or so on.
Kath,
I'm sorry to hear that you've had pain too. I've had two surgeries and have done PT since I was born. In the last couple years I've started going to the chiropractor, and it REALLY seems to help. You shouldn't have worried about how you look! Although, I've been there. I am only 15, but when I was around 11-13. I NEVER wanted my scares to show, I wouldn't wear tanktops or anything. Now, I do not care! I enjoy being different, and I honestly believe that I have the injury for a reason, maybe to help with a future job or volunteering project? You never know!
The Myotrac machine, what exactly does it do? I will look it up online, but could you tell me more? And also, I've went to several doctors, but they all say that there is nothing else that can be done with my arm. I often want to argue that, but I am glad that my arm is not as bad as a majority of the other cases.
Back Pain?

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: To make an incredibly LONG story short...
When I was born, my mother's doctor was out of town. A doctor that would not perform c-sections was forced upon us. Being 10 lbs, my right shoulder got stuck under my mom's pubic bone. The doctor pulled me out by my head, which ripped/streched all the nerves in my neck and arm (So, OBPI).
I've had two surgeries at 9 months old, and 3 years old.
My mother suffered as well. She needed both brain surgery and a shunt--She still sufferes today.
My parents lost the court case due to a terrible jurey.
That's about it!
Hope I can find somebody my age to talk to :)

Re: Back Pain?
I believe it is just when your scapula sticks out when you move your arm certain ways. Therefore, "scapular winging"
