Emily,
Stay away from percocet. It is a very addictive drug. I made the mistake of going to a pain clinic and was put on methadone for 6 years. I had a 6 year vacation from pain, then I was taken off in a matter of days and was detoxed improperly. It was the worst experience of my life. Please be careful with meds. I have used a lidocaine patch which took the edge off. If you want more info please e-mail me.

If you are having nerve pain, have you tried Neurontin or Lyrica? Low dose tricyclic anti-depressants also help.

Re: what pain relief do u use?
oh how i love lyrica!!! i took it for a couple of months when i first was injured, but discontinued it because my pain was all but gone. but the pain came back after a while and now am back on it. it is helping a lot again. i think i will stay on it this time. i am also taking baclofen for muscle spasms. a new thing i am doing now is a stellate ganglion block. i have only had one so far, but it is helping a lot. i am going to have at least 4 of them for now. one per week.

i personally take extra tylenol or aleve... ive had to take them so often, the normal dose does nothing... so its like 5 and pain goes away....

Please be careful taking so many pills at once. While tylenol (generic=acetominophen) is a generally a safe drug, too much can cause liver toxicity. Likewise, Alleve/ibuprofen/Advil/Motrin can cause some serious stomach upset/complications at high doses.

Re: what pain relief do u use?
actually, the best pain control i have found is lyrica. but it does me no good at all if i do not EXCERCISE EXCERCISE EXCERCISE then KEEP that HAND AND ARM ON THE MOVE!! if you have a lot of pain do not put it in a still position. period. that will increase the pain more than anything.
