Travel arrangements for upcoming surgery

Post by gawilliams »

Well, our now 5month old is scheduled for surgery with Dr. Kozin at the end of this month. He will do an exploratory and if he can do any nerve grafting, he will. My question is, if we fly up there, is getting a cab to the ronald mcdonald house pretty easy and safe? (if they have an opening). We are trying not to rent a car as this would help out in expenses. But we were also wondering if Shriners had like a shuttle van to pick us up from the rmdh? Any and all information would be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance.

The times we've stayed at the RMD house in Camden, there has been a Shriners driver for those who were going over for appointments. One time we had to be at Temple very early for an MRI, so Shriners had a car and driver pick us up. I think also another time we had to take a cab, and they reimbursed us for the cab fare. In the past, if they put you up at the RMDH they also arranged for your transportation back and forth. I have no idea if it still works that way, but it couldn't hurt to ask!
