Looking for a Safe Hotel near Shriners Hosp. in Philadelphia
I am trying to book my trip to Shriners in December. I am looking for a safe and close hotel up to 20 mins away. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Many people that go to Shriners stay at the Conwell Inn on Temple University campus....very safe...nice, clean....It is right off Broad Street which is the street the hospital is on..if you want to do the bus they go by every 15 minutes approximately....just do a google search for Conwell Inn...best wishes....

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: Kelsey was born on August 29 2008 and has a right BPI. We have gone back and forth from NY to see Dr Kozin in PA. He is AMAZING! Kelsey got a tendon transfer and shoulder release surgery on October 26th 2010 and has just recently gotten her cast off. She is now externally rotating and supinating....shes NEVER done that before!!!

If you are more than 2 hours away you can stay at the Ronald McDonald House on E. Erie. Just call 215-291-0907 and ask to be on the waiting list and the date hospital you are going to. I bring my daughter to Shriners and actually as I write this I am at the RMH staying here. They are GREAT!!! It's only $15 a day IF you can pay it. I love this place
