HELP ANSWERS NEEDED
have a brachial plexus injury its from a birth trauma my right arm (shoulder) was effected, i wanted to know if there is anything that can be done; surgery - ( please list possible surgeries if available ) . i have quite good function with right arm i just cant lift my hand up over my head due to the shoulder problem, I have quite good sensitivity it's not really numb I can feel things. I would say around 85% sensitivity level; can someone please give me some advice on what can be done please.

Surgery with Dr Waters (BCH), April 1999 and in February 2012
2 more daughters, Julia (1999), Sarah(2002) born Cesarean.

there are many different surgical interventions even for adults, but you would need to see a specialist to give you a better diagnosis depending on the extent of your injury. Getting more shoulder movement to raise your arm is possible through tendon and muscle transfers and is the main reason for secondary surgeries, but it will depend on the integrity of your shoulder joint-so again a specialist will be needed to evaluate.
I would suggest looking through our medical resource directory to find specialists near you for an in-person evaluation, and then perhaps talk to other centers to get other opinions (you can send any report or images that the first specialist takes.
