Gooftwo.......your post made me very sad :( I am sorry your pain is so bad.) I see you've shared that in an earlier post and I hope somone will have a helpful suggestion.
I am almost two years out and I promise you at some point it will get easier :) Your mind and spirit will adapt and you will find ways to do many things that you thought were impossible. Just don't give up.
And please, please, please, if you (or anyone for that matter) are considering that "alternative" share with someone here first. Anyone here would be glad to listen and just knowing that people are there who understand your pain helps to lessen it :) Also, you are owe it to yourself and your family (they suffer when you suffer, trust me, I know)..........you are worth more than that. We ALL are :)

Ang :)

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Depression is often a common Secondary Injury/Life-time Medical Issue for individuals ( I am one) with OBPI'S also. There is a "lively" decussion on this Topic in the "Adults& Teens With OBPI Forum message boards. Go there and type "depression" in the Search Forum Box & the posts should come up for you.

This UBPN Network, Counselling and Meds together saved my life. I could not do it alone or just one of these three stratedgies. Please consider getting help and keep venting here. And also please keep us updated...WE CARE.
