I have posted here in the past, but it's been awhile. My husband had a BP injury in Nov 2003 from an ATV accident. He had a nerve transfer in Feb 2004 and a muscle transfer in April 2007 (took a muscle from his back & put it in his bicep) - all in Houston. He was scheduled to have a surgery tomorrow - tightening the muscle that was transferred. After doing some tests the dr concluded that the muscle is not strong enough & the tightening procedure would not be beneficial. They now want to do another muscle transfer in March. All these trips to Houston (airfare, hotel, food) gets expensive since we live in Montana. Does anyone know of any assistance with travel expenses when the travel is related to medical reasons?
Thank you,
Jessica

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: Husband had BP injury in November 2003 in an ATV accident. First surgery was in February 2004 - a nerve transfer performed by Dr Nath. Second surgery was in April 2007 - a bicep muscle transfer performed by Dr Nath and Dr Boutros. Still no real improvement - he has function of his hand, but no other function of his arm (cannot bend his elbow).
