Any advances in DELTOID surgery??
Has there been any new developments in restoring the deltoid after root avulsion? I had median nerve transfer done by D Nath in 2005, which gave me some bicep/ tricep ROM back, but I need to get this darn deltoid back.

Well I didnt have an avulsion, but I still have no deltoid, I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone who's had successful recovery of the deltoid as well.
Robert - LTBPI/34/AL - Yamaha meets Ford Expedition....not good.
Re: Any advances in DELTOID surgery??
both my deltoid and bicep/brachiallis were affected.
i now have bicep.brachiallis.. & what looks to be three heads of my deltoid, albeit very weak..
i use an e-link machine at hospital every week.. which uses a kid of surface EMG technology, and seems that the contraction in the three heads is increasing.
but it is a case of having to teach my body to use the shoulder again.
due to them using a fascicle of my tricep to reinnervate the deltoid, i have found trying to build up my triceps looks to have a symbiotic effect, and helping with the shoulder.
