Sorry that I can't be of help as far as an answer, but $200 a month for MEDICAID? That's more than I spent for my regular insurance through work! Have you considered asking an attorney to look into it?

Ok Im curious too, I do have part A on Medicare , thats all pay nothing for that. Is this what Medicare says for the other coverage you would have to pay ? If so shop for the other supplemental heath coverage. Did you get the new SSA medicare coverage book for 2009?

If I remember right ? Medicare has more coverage if you fall under a income amount in a year, It might be worth calling the SSA on this.

Hi Dan. SSD automatically deducts $96.50 from my benefit before the direct deposit.
I have one child under 19 yrs and he lives with his mom in San Antonio. She does receive something for him.
I don't remember how much though.
For 2008 I had removed Part B because I needed the cash. I am a service connected Disabled Vet and therefore the VA takes care of me. If If I can be patient enough. I really don't have much trouble with them. As far as SSD it was like flying the flying trapeze with no net. I cracked my head open 3(three) times during that time-out and ended up going to the nearest hospital all but one time and that was to have staples removed. I had a VA appointment so I went early enough for them to remove them
1. Having to pay for x-rays, ER equip/supplies, Dr's fees, the Ice Cream man, the electricity used in the ER which wasn't so bad after it was divvied up amongst everyone else in the ER, also a coke for the Desk Jockey. I paid for the security guard, and the nurses. Also, new lawn furniture for the doctor, the paper the bill was printed on I can't think of anything else I had to pay for myself.
B. I didn't have one accident or injury while on Part B so I cancelled it. That's when everything went wrong.
So now I have it Part B) again and recently learned I have something like a $150 deductable???
So in conclusion...I don't know what heck I just wrote for you so it better lend to you my support somehow?
Take care,
Scott

Hi Scott,
Well I did understand what you wrote
There is a lot of GOOD information about your experience in what you said. You did state what it cost you with the SSD.
You state a fact about over charge in a medical issue. The thing about your VA issue, I have buddies from the Nam days who were surprised that in the end by other medical issues to service they end up with a higher percentage and benefit. The medical issue can be latter in life that can be service connected to .
Best wishes and Trys,
It is what it is in life , Far to many challenges for sure.
