Cycling

Post by cdmurfee »

Hi All,

I've recently decided try to spread awareness in a meaningful way, and try to reach the most people that come in contact with, so I've decided that I want to try out for the paralympic cycling team! Most people really don't notice there is something wrong with my arm, and I don't like to just bring it up out of nowhere, but I think if I mention paralympic related matters, that may peak interest in why I would be on that team in the first place. I had a meeting this morning w/ the head coach, and got to meet some of the super nice members of the current team. It's definitely going to be a process. One thing I need to do is to get my medical records related to my BPI. Does anyone know how to go about abtaining these records? I haven't been to the hospital concerning my BPI since before I can remember. Do you think they still might have them? As always, any suggestions are very much appreciated!

What you do is make a request for your records through "Archives" or "medical records" depends what it is called at your hospital. They may or may not have them. Some places get rid of them after a certain amount of years.

Marieke is right, I needed my medical record from 1952. I contact the medical records deptment and all I had was a Idea that I was there in 1952. They told me that I needed a case number. Which I had no clue but they did say they look it up in mico fish they did find them with time, but it very could of ended at that point. so if you have a idea of a date you might have a chance to get them? If not go to the Couch any ask him if a currant doctor would work or what else you could do that will work? I am happy to see that you are going after something you enjoy and our issue.

Good Luck,

Tom
