Anniversary

Post by kathy »

It has been 1 year today that I suffered my injury. I feel partly guilty for bringing this up, because so many of you have had this injury so much longer than I have. I just want this day to be over. I have been dreading it for a while. I keep reliving what happened that day and also know that my statue of limitations runs out today for suing the doctor for what she did to me. You see I am an adult and the ER doctor made a mistake and now I have permanent injury also. Tomorrow is a new day and I know things will be better tomorrow. Thanks for letting me speak.

I hope all the best for you and your future.

This summer it was my 13th anniversary, but I 'm no more counting them from the 10th...

Bye from Italy

Hello Kathy,

I know how difficult this day is for you. I have had my injury for 5 years, and every year, that day looms ominously in front of me also.

I always take that day to myself... just go away somewhere I want to go by myself. Gives me time to think about what has happened in the last year and make plans for the year ahead. Just an idea.

Believe me, though. I understand how hard it is. Best of luck and keep going on!

Keep your chin up Kathy. It is not always easy to deal with an anniversary like this. Just keep looking to the positive. Of course we all know finding "positive" can be a challenge in it self! Maybe draw a bath with some candles and lock the door and have a good cry! That way when you come out of the bathroom with a red face from crying you can blame it on the hot bath! :-)

My one year is coming up in 6 days. I'm also continually reliving my accident. It has completely changed my life. I have learned, over the last year, that I can live with this dissability, though it is a challenge. Good luck Kathy.

Hi Kathy

Please don't feel guilty...we all know how hard this day can be to get thru, we are there with you, but it will pass, and better days will follow. I have my 9th anniversary coming up next march, but honestly, these past few years I have actually forgotten about it and the day just passes like any other. At some point, I think this happens to everyone...
Keep your chin up ;0) believe me, things do get better!
Take care...liz xx

Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement. My family has been very supportive today. I have wanted to spend most of it just quietly by myself. Thanks.
