we used hydrogen peroxide to clear up infection - our daughter is highly allergic to the neosporin (as are some other kids I have spoken to)...
also mederma has onion juice in it, so that's the part of it that's supposed to break down keloids kind of like retin A but it's very expensive and you have to apply it 3-4 times a day
