Mayo Magazine article about obpi family

Post by Natalie and Logan »

A friend of ours, who is a physician, ran into this article in the Mayo Magazine. He called me about it immediately. He was so excited to have ran into this since not much info is readily available on these injuries. It's titled "Mayo's Brachial Plexus Clinic" and talks about a family by name who basically has gone thru what all of us have, I hear it every time... baby born with obpi, family searching for answers and treatments and not getting what they need, being told he would recover in a few weeks and he's not, etc, etc, etc... It talks about his nerve graft surgery, muscle and tendon surgery, and the happy results for this family. It shows the family. It was a great article. The mayo team went on to even answer some basic questions. Has anyone else seen it? There is only one website listed if anyone wants to request a copy: address comments (or article requests) to Matthew D. Dacy at dacy.matthew@mayo.edu.
We are snowed in for a while here in southwest Missouri, we got about 8 inches of snow AND ICE. But it is a beautiful sight to behold. Needless to say, I am doing internet Christmas shopping!!
I am doing a TV news special on brachial plexus injuries in the next month or so and am a little nervous and excited!! Need some help from you all what I should hit upon. I hope the doctor that delivered Logan is watching, I might have to call his office! HA!
Also, I was invited to be the speaker for a luncheon for the Missouri Highway Patrol for Children's Miracle Network on Dec. 20th. Really nervous but excited.
Any advice/help from you all would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!
Hope you are all doing well!

Like I said before, just make sure that you have written down the warning signs for sd. I wish I would've...good luck!
