Re: question on diagnosis

Unfortunately no, his niece is now 20 years old and is more uncomfortable with her appearance differences than anything. She's such a beautiful girl too- she's just extremly self conscious. She adores TJ since they seem to have just about the same amount of function (she's a left side injury as well) They actually hold their arms much the same.
I did a search on pediatric stroke and found quiet a bit- however it seemed most of the message boards would not connect- hopefully it's just a server issue with them this morning- try visiting

http://www.chasa.org/strokes.htm this site does not have message boards but an email list that might be helpful in getting some answers.
Good luck and keep us posted!

My ten year old just had surgery 3 weeks ago in texas --- keep looking for answers and find out as much as you can for your child's sake. I was worried about having waited 10 years, but no one offered us anything---we had to find help. hang in there!

Just wanted to say hello. I have a 71/2 month old son who has olbpi He had primary surgery in October. He also has a tilt to the right"torticollis" we have been working on it since he was born. He had no movement in his left arm and was very week on his left side but I didn't notice it till he got older and in therapy. He is moving his leg more now and can move his fingers and wrist but that is all nothing in his shoulder or elbow but we hope surgery helped that. He also has flaring of his ribs on the left side and he still can't sit alone his is real week in his back. Our therapist also wonders if he suffered a stroke but no one has ordered any test to see. I guess I am still looking like you. But we do know he was injured he had to have 3 nerve grafts c5-6-7. Carron
