Helen,

Please provide the specific references from the code you cited that says that a lawyer cannot converse with parents about his experience with specific doctors.

And to all those new parents out there wondering what on earth is going on with this thread...

Please be aware that any member of this community can have personal biases and personal vendettas, not just parents. Even lawyers and even other surgeons can have an "axe to grind". The appearance of neutrality doesn't guarantee it. At all. Check your sources and double-check against other sources. There are a lot of agendas out there, and sometimes people are not even who they appear to be. Please just be aware of that.

Personally, I have absolutely NO desire to encourage people to seek out Mr. Levine's input. I personally think it is likely pretty worthless, and I think his attempts to suggest that he is somehow not biased in all of this are very misleading. But I find it equally repulsive for one parent to tell another what information he/she should consider in making these difficult decisions. That is up to the individual parent, and if a parent wants to take into consideration the input of a lawyer who trolls boards that are intended to provide support for parents of injured children, that is certainly their right.

Kate,

I'll request that the Bar Association respond to it themselves and that way the arguments and tit for tat can stop.

However, I do love your word trolling (specifically you said "trolls") because that's how I would describe it, too. I suggest that if anyone wants to take the opinion of any professional who "trolls" here, check their history out. One way to do that is simply to do a google search that goes way back.
