questions scared and need experienced answers

Post by deidredeeh »

I have bp nerve damage from a stellate ganglion w/ radiofrequency nerve block. My dr in other words hit my nerve root at c67 and heated up to the point were my whole brachial plexus nerve feels like it is on fire. They call it radiculopathy. I do have function but if I use my arm and hand the pain is unbearable. I am on lyrica and pain meds but now the hosp has banned him from practicing and I don't know what to do. I am on florida medicaid and the dr I had wrote notes because he knows I can't take care of myself or my 2 daughters even the simplest things are like burning in flames. Is there anything out there anyone knows about that I can do to help this pain? Or any suggestions to offer. I feel so badly reading some of the other stories because my story is far from being as tragic as some. Thank you, Deidre

I would look for a pain specialist! they are the BEST at putting together cocktails of prescriptions for the pain that we deal with. Medicaid should NOT be a problem seeing someone!!

Check out the medical resources directory maybe and see if there is a doctor there that can help you. http://ubpn.org/medicalresources/us-bpi.html

thanks so much courtney I am really having so much trouble finding a dr here in pensacola we really don't have the best medical care. Alabama isn't far so I'll check there since I'm in Fl and they take fl medicaid there. I'm just so mad that my dr got banned from the hosp. I did call an attorney and we are working with him but that doesn't help the pain and right now I have almost no medication left and no physician except pain management are allowed to write prescription in our area. I guess I will do alot of praying it really sucks because I have been clean and sober from alcoholism for 14 years and don't even want to take anything but I'm in agony and have no choice that dr as my neurosurgeon but it completely melted my brachial plexus nerve from the root and there is no repair it will be this way for my lifetime I am still trying to comprehend this. Wow. I pray for all of you out there and especially the children, babies and there mothers. God Bless you all.

I hope you are able to find some relief from the pain. You mentioned medicaid in your post. If you are having difficulties paying for your prescriptions, you may want to check out the Partnership for Prescription Assistance at http://www.pparx.org/.
