results from acupuncture?
results from acupuncture?
My son has Erb's Palsy and is 5 months old. I would like to find out if anyone has had luck w/ acupuncture? Zachary has a therapist coming once a week, plus we do Range of Motion every day. He can bend his elbow and he is starting to defy gravity a little, but I wonder if acupuncture might increase movement. Thanks for any help. This is my first time visiting the site...what a great information source-- thanks to everyone who takes the time to reply. April
Re: results from acupuncture?
April,
We have seen miracles from acupuncture. We started taking Matthew when he was four months old. I had gotten referred by a couple of other bpi moms on a board that is no longer active. Before going to acupuncture Matthew had no movement at all and his right arm was always colder than the left. After the first treatment his hands were the same temp. After a couple of more treatments he started to get finger/wrist movement. When he went for his primary surgery consult they thought C7&8 weren't really damaged because his movement was great. When they did the surgery they couldn't believe what they saw. The surgeons said that based on the size of the neuroma that formed Matthew should have no movement at all. They said in all the years they have been doing the surgery they have never seen anything like it. His C5 nerve was ruptured and had the biggest piece of neuroma growth trying to reconnect they had ever seen as well.
I definately recommend it highly. I've also had a session and it was wonderful. If you have any more questions please post or email me at cpfranklin@psualum.com
