Second Opinion

Hi all! Alexyss went for her second opinion about the swelling in her arm and her shoulder sloping again. We went to TCH. We saw Dr. Nath. He said that the surgery she had before only fixed about 10% of the problem and the doctor left about 90%. He wants to go for surgery soon since she is almost 13 months old. He said that he could not fix her nerves. They could only work on the muscles. The nerve doctor who did her went through the opening like the mod-quad when she was getting her shoulder put back into place. She did not operate on the brachial plexus at all. So, it looks like we are going to Houston to have the Mod-Quad done! My husband is going to speak to Dr. Nath tomorrow and I will let you all know how it turns out! I am not angry at the OB who did this to my child anymore; I am angry at the nerve doctor who might have caused my daughter permanent damage because she did not want to get involved b/c of a law suit! It seems like you never win sometimes!

Tracey - I am so sorry to hear this. Don't know what to say - just really sorry.

Dr. Nath is Maia's surgeon. We really think the world of him. I know that it's hard for you to trust doctors now and I will pray that Dr. Nath's work will be successful for your little one.

I am so sorry to hear this....there are a few doctors in the world that won't work on our children, god forbid they go against one of their own....good lusck to you...Dr. Nath has two two surgeries on our little boy and we couldn't be happier !!!!!

tracey, i feel you are doing the best thing. TCH is wonderful. Dr. Nath and the other doctors there will do the best to help you. We also have been to Houston for our daughter. God bless you and your family.
