new to the brachial plexus nerve problem
I am trying to type and man it hurts. I'm not even using th damaged arm. I had a nerve block called stellate ganglion block for pain from shingles in my ear called Ramsey Hunt syndrome the block was with radiofrequency and the doc had a complication and damaged my bracial plexus nerve at the c 4 5 spine. I feel like my arm is broken and burned. I had a contrast MRI yesterday and nerve test next thursday. I can't use my left arm. Can someone tell me what I have to look forward to the doc says this is likely to be permanent. I thought the shingles were painful. I'm waiting for my medicaid to approve my pain med. should be tommorow. I am really glad to find this forum. Support is so important. I recovered from heart failure from a pregnancy and had a great forum for that and made great friends too.
Re: new to the brachial plexus nerve problem
Dee,
I'm sorry to welcome you to our group. My injury to my Brachial Plexus was caused by an auto accident. It was no one's fault. I hit black ice, rolled down an embankment, hit a tree and landed on the driver’s side. This happened on 1/2/07.
I hope your injury is not as severe as mine is. I have no movement or feeling from the elbow down of my left arm. I have had several surgeries. Some successful other total failures.
See the best doctors you can. Make sure they are familiar with your type of injury.
I wish you the best luck.
Take care,
Janelle
