Hi,
I read your post and had a few questions about forearm osteotomy and Dr. Davino. Our daughter's arm supinates and last year we went to Houston and saw Dr. Nath and he recommended a forearm osteotomy with Dr. Davino. Even though Nath answered our questions, we never did meet Dr. Davino on that visit and it was a very scary decision to make. We have been trying through different straps, taping and therapy to see if she can "turn" her forearm but it just isn't working. I think that she will need this surgery but we are very apprehensive. I would love to hear your opinion on Dr. Davino and hear some advice when you have the time. Our daughter is 4 years old with a RBPI , C5-C7 were stretched with neuromas and C8 and T1 were avulsed with horner's.
Thanks
Michele

My son Ryan had the humeral osteotomy last October at Boston Children's by Dr. Waters. They are wonderful there. The surgery sounds much worse than it is. Several months after the osteotomy the plate didn't hold for Ryan and he had to have it removed (not painful at all for him). I am very glad that we went through with this surgery -- Ryan is LBPI -- his arm lays more "natural" than it did prior to surgery. Ryan's arm was pronated. However Ryan has a "locked elbow" and still cannot bend his arm to touch his mouth, can't button his pants, hard time with his shoes, etc. Ryan will be 8 in November when he will be undergoing the triangle tilt - hope to get some progress out of that.
