I found him by acceident in our resoures center he is with Dr. Price.

HI. You all talk in jargon which i don't understand. I had a motorcycle accident 03.07.02 and broke my neck collar bone and 2 bones in forearm which have been plated and pinned. I know i have a brachial plexus injury. I can shrug my shoulder but have no other movement and have no feeling from just above my elbow to the tips of my fingers. I am being referred to another specialist to see if he can do a graft from my leg to my upper arm.
This sounds nasty to me. What effect will this have on my leg/foot?

I have had a BPI since 1993 and can answer a lot of your questions...we also have a bpi support group for adults based here in the U.K. and there are around 60 members now...between us all we have vast experience in living with these life altering injuries, and the biggest cause of the trauma injuries has been motorbike accidents. - Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

hi zoe-like you i got my bpi from a bike accident in the UK, mine was 8th Jan 1980.
