Meltdown like no other! HELP! Any suggestions??

Hey all, last night the Fam went out to eat. Which is not unusual but it was like no other time before as to what happened. We sat down at our table ordered. It was a little chilly in the restaurant but not to cold. Well Brayden just had a complete meltdown when his food got to the table. He kept hollaring I am cold,I can't eat. I am freezing. So we asked our server if they could cut the air off. So they did but he kept saying I am cold. And he didn't eat enough for a bird to survive. And on the way home from work he was starving, we went straight to the restaurant after picking up daddy. So he had to still be hungry. But he just had a complete meltdown. Hollaring, couldn't seem to sit in his seat or be still. I am not sure what was going on. He has never acted this way. However I have noticed him complain of being cold often, he wears winter pajamas to bed almost every night, and he hates having tags in his clothes. With school coming up I am afraid it might happen again. And I don't want him to be labeled as a disruptive child. We have gone through that before. That is when we removed him from public school and put him in a private one. And didn't have trouble after that. I know some where I read about a sensory issue. I am not sure if he may be having trouble but like I said this is the frist time he has had a meltdown. Any suggestion would be great. School starts in 2 weeks and I would like to let his teacher know that the meltdown could be possible again and how they could help. I just don't know. He ges back to the doctor in August so I guess I will discuss it with him. I just hate to if it is a one time thing. Please let me know if anyone has experienced this before and any suggestions. ???? It sounds like sensory issues to me. My right obpi arm is always freezing and when it gets too cold it's painful. I can't have a tag at all and sometimes clothes I've worn before I just can't put on. I don't know what it is but all of a sudden I am uncomfortable and change my clothing until I can find something very big and loose. When I sleep my arm often wakes me up if it's not covered and I have an extra soft blanket on it. I know it's hard on the parents but it's hard on the kids when these things happen. He probably could not focus on his food because his arm may have had pain from the cold. I was in PT and they put ice on my arm and in two minutes it brought me to tears. I am not a cry baby nor one who cries easy but that was so painful. I had never had ice on my robpi arm before so I had no way of knowing it would be painful.
Check the Sensory posts they will help you understand better. Also the smell of some restaurants could make me loose my appetite when I was younger. I still can't stand the smell of food after I eat. I have to clear the food off the table.... I'm so much better now.

Brandon has done the same thing. It is embarrassing sometimes, but people just have to understand !!!

Whichever arm Jordan's BPI is affected (he has had PTS twice)is cold and hurtful to the touch at times. Someone once explained it to me as the feeling of a nerve exposed from a Root Canal. I think a bit of understanding on the school's part is in order. NO ONE knows what our kids go through unless they have sat in their shoes!!! Sending you good, supportive vibes~~~~~~~~~~~~

Both my kids BP and non BP had me cutoff all the tags in their clothes at that age.

Little kids get tired. My soon to be 5 year old (non bpi) likes restaurants one day and then the next time it is a new story.

Kids pick up on all our anxiety. I know I have affected my 9 year old BP kid with my anxiousness and anxiety over the years.

Just a warning to parents, kids are sensitive to our reactions to them.
