Hi there!
Has anyone ever heard of an elbow immobilizer or splint called a "no-no"? My EI physical therapist is letting us borrow one from her company, for my son's LOBPI , and has no idea where they originally purchased it from. It has been a huge success with his weight bearing and am in need of getting my own. If anyone could pass on any info that would be great!
Thanks!
Chris (Cooper's mom)

Re: "no no" elbow splint
Chris,
We are interested in learning more about this splint, but cannot find anything online.
Do you have a picture of this splint? Also, does your PT know of a site where we could check it out?
Thank you so much for posting this! Let us know how your son does with it! We wish you great success!

Hi,
My daughter has an arm immobilizer from Med-kids which was given to her at the hospital for her not to reach and take her IV off.
go to this link, I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but I saw these before her hospital stay.

Thanks for posting about the pedi-wrap. Unfortunately, we've tried pedi-wraps, therma-wraps, and just about every other kind of splint you can think of. Our problem, specifically, is weightbearing.
I was curious to see how the no-no splint differed from others we have tried.
Again, thank you, though.

Thanks for all the replies!
The "no-no" is almost exactly like the pedi-wrap but not as bulky. The one we are borrowing goes from right above his elbow to his wrist. It can be positioned further up or down depending on what we are doing, and is very light weight. (Kind of like strong cardboard) It is especially helpful for Coop because he has no elbow or bicep movement and is VERY eager to walk! With it he can cruise along the couch, at least using his hand for balance. I will continue my search and post any info I find!
Thanks again!

The PT works at a special school and all "no-no's" were donated by families. I think she is trying to find out more info. I'll let all know what I find out!

I wasn't sure if that is what you were looking for but I kept researching and came accross this article.
http://www.svcn.com/archives/sunnyvales ... ews3.shtml
It mentions the no-no splints and that they are distributed by a non-profit organization called Interplast.
For more information log onto www.interplast.org. To volunteer, contact mailto:seth@interplast.org or]seth@interplast.org or phone 888.467.5278.

Re: "no no" elbow splint
Mica - we used pedi wrap when Maia was younger (lightweight) - I got the wild animal kind and bought a tunnel and we played lions & tigers and bears (ohmy!) And then when she got older we used an air splint (you blow it up - it's like the swimming "wings" except it went from wrist to just below the armpit. It worked well. (if you get an air splint, get the "filter" - it holds on to your spit so that you don't get "fog" in the air splint)
