I forgot to add, the only 3rd party payee who didn't want reimbursed was Part C which paid for therapy from birth till age 3. I called them personally to make doubly sure. That was a real blessing, 3 years of therapy is expensive!!

I don't remember what the clause is called, but the insurance company has to have a clause stating that it has to be reembersed if there is a settlement. Not all insurance companies have this clause, so they are not entitled to recieve any money from your settlement. We have gone through about 4 insurance companies since Michael's birth. Only one has this clause so they are the only ones legally entitled to be reembersed. All the rest won't see a dime. Straight from my lawyers mouth.

It's also my understanding that as long as you make payments to the hospital on a regular basis they can't do a thing to you legally wise. Also, before you pay a dime to the hospital, call your insurance company and cross check the hospital bills. Check for provider discounts, make sure co-pays were credited, even make sure they sent the bills to the insurance company for payment. Just because they send you a bill doesn't mean the amount is right. I've seen bills come were they didn't even send it in to the insurance company. They didn't include co-pays and provider discounts. I have literally found hundreds of dollars in errors by their billing department since Michael's diagnosis two years ago.

Good luck.
