In the past two weeks since I first learned of the misleading and possibly fraudulent article written by Drs. Salamon and Lerner which claims to report a brachial plexus injury without traction or shoulder dystocia I have heard from lawyers around the country. Sadly the lawyers are calling to tell me that the defense lawyers in their cases are trying to use the Lerner/Salamon article to support the theory that the brachial plexus injury is not related to shoulder dystocia or traction. In the cases where I have been contacted we are working to stop the defense. It is very important that expose the article so it cannot be used against the children with brachial plexus injuries.
The doctors will stop at nothing to defend themselves, even publishing misleading medical articles. We must be vigilant and on guard constantly
to prevent this misinformation from being used in cases.
Again, I urge everyone that has a case, or had one, to make their lawyer aware of the article and my offer to provide the true and correct information.
