Hey Court-you out there?

Post by herff94 »

Hey Court~
I'm sure you are one busy woman these days. Getting a wedding planned takes every free moment of your time!
I just wanted to let you know my reconstructive surgery that was to be done in 2 surgeries turned into 4; I think you might already know that. When I left he said "that implant isn't going anywhere. But in 6 months that's when I'll worry". Well, here I am 8 months later and it shifted and a screw came out. It hurts like HELL!! I'm in so much pain. Dr Johnson is out for the month of Jan. and he doesn't want me to see anyone else there at Mayo. I'm trying to see from his assistant if I can have an x-ray here in Illinois and sent to his assistant. Saves me a trip-hopefully. In the mean time with my 4 children (one being 2) I'm useless to my husband and children. It hurts to put my sons shoes on.
Well, Courtney, just wanted to update you and see how you were doing. I have been thinking about you.
Hey, I signed up to an experiment at Mayo and I have to except this-and I do:)

Hey there... sorry to hear things have gone so crazy! I hear ya though with that drama stuff! It really sucks... but that is how I looked at all my crap last year... hopefully they learned SOMETHING from my case and it will help or prevent someone in the future from going through what I went through! :) Keep your head up girly!!

As for me... I have been so freakin busy! I am planning my wedding, September 27, 2008 along with writing my masters thesis right now... and to make it even crazier... I got a promotion at work so I am really busy here and learning new things! I hardly have time for sleep! My old roomie was here from LA this week, so today I am running on 2 hours of sleep! NOT FUN!

The pain in my arm is still there... the pills I am taking, take the edge off... I take better ones in addition if I need. I have come to realize that it is ok to take pills if I am in pain :) Took me long enough...

Hopefully I am getting a new puppy in the next few months too! Nothing to keep me down!

I Hope things look up for you... you have come this far... keep coming!! I will post more as my time frees up some!

Thanks for checking on me!!

COURTNEY :)

Hi Courtney~
I went up to the clinic last Tuesday and they admitted me to St Mary that afternoon and I had surgery on Friday. I was on IV's for the infection from Tuesday until Friday morning and then again until Saturday. All went well. It was not infected but it had damage to my implant. I guess I had a lot of fluid that they drained, they cut away at the implant (again!!! 3x) and then flushed it 2x. Stitched me closed and put me in a body wrap. It was a week of craziness here. Jim left me inMN to get back home to the kids. I had my mom, Jim's mom and my sister all taking shifts to take care of my children, house, pets and everyday stuff. Jim came back thurs night (advice to all.....its $50 more for a private room BUT your spouse or other can stay with you in your room-saves a hotel rental of $80 or more!) And he stayed again with me Friday night and I left Sat. afternoon. This body cast thing stinks! I'm potty training my youngest, too. Its been hard but my mom-in-law has been taking my kids to school and brining them home. Its -7 today and its been like that since last Sat. Freezing! I can't get a coat around me in this cast so I stay home (and going insane). I took a college math class and it started last Thurs when I was in hosp. Great! I have 2 weeks to make up. And I'm horrible in Math.
But everyday gets better, right? I go back Feb 5th to get it looked at and stitches out.
How are you? Any new procedures being done? How are t he wedding plans going????? how exciting!
TTYL
