Trial starts on Monday.

Post by Karrie -- Md. »

Well it is finally time. After 4 1/2 years, Kyle's case goes to trial on Monday morning. I am a bit nervous and stressed. Anyone, who has been through it before, have any advice? Please keep us in your thoughts next week. Thanks.

Good luck...we were in court for 7 days with a jury last September. It is very emotionally draining, but for us, in the end it was worth it. I hope everyone is prepared. Also, be prepared to hear lies...we did from the doctor that caused the injury. We were awarded 3.5 million by the jury which was reduced to 1 million by Virginia's state malpractice cap. We settled afterwards so it wouldn't go to the appeals court. Our judge has never had a case that has been overturned in the appellate court. We just wanted it all to end so we settled.

GOOD LUCK!!! Be strong!!!

Karrie, like I said, keep your chin up, look him in the eye, try not to cry too much (super hard), and know your deposition answers. They will try to trip you up on what you said then vs. what you are saying now, even if you have remembered things since then. Good luck, so much good luck being sent your way. Do well and win for us all, a victory for those children that don't win. Please let us know how things go, you will be in my prayers...
Sincerely, Natalie

Remember you are very strong and very brave to have gotten this far- you have worked and fought for all your child has - just keep focused on that tell the truth look them in the eye and try to funnel that anger into truth and justice- double time prayers and peace coming your way !!!! Carole
