Pulley for exercise

Post by Mare »

I have a pulley that attaches to the door for exercising Frankies OT thought it might be something he could do if we taped his hand to it but it didn't work so I have this thing brand new in a box if anyone would like it just let me know and I will send it to you Free I hate to see anything thrown out that might help someone else.

Mare, did it not work to tape his hand to it or not work for therapy? I have one and at times can not hold on to it so use a splint. I can take a picture for you if that would help. I am supposed to be using my pulley daily but havent gotten into a good routine yet. Need to do that again. I burned myself out with recovery from my surgery. I kind of took a break from all my therapy but now I am ready to go again and will start using it.

I used mine to 100% passively pull my right arm p and then try to hold it up. I also am not using the right muscles but with myotrac, I can see where I am going wrong. Mostly, I need to learn to stop kicking in upper traps.

Generally when I do my pully my left arm doe sabout 98% of the work.

Bummer that it isnt working for Frankie!

Hi Mare,

My husband suffered a severe l shoulder injury in September of this year. As a result, he has had nerve damage that has left his shoulder "paralyzed", although we hope temporarily. He has been using the pulley system in therapy & has found it to be quite helpful. If you still have it available, we're quite interested. Can you e-mail us at brandon.skewes@skewesjewelry.com?

Thank you!

I use it all the time, for stretching the ligaments/joints more than anything. I think it keeps the joints free from jamming up too much, it doesnt get any muscles working but I get a full stretching exercise from it.
