I thought that Bob Dole was our spokesperson, Martin Sheen would be another good one, I think he has this injury too.

if it were happening you'd know about it right? bob dole did get involved for a short time years ago - nothing since that I've heard of... Martin Sheen, I don't think he ever responded... Stone Philips - nothing from him, I think it was his dad who had a bpi?....Oprah, yearightsure, forget that idea... we've been trying her for 9 years that I'm aware of... I remember a bunch of us made video tapes and there was this huge basket that was sent to her. No response.

This connection that is mentioned in the link just came about naturally - wish it would for us, too.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

We contacted B Dole... and?
Martin Sheen... no response

We had a parent on Dr.Phil show and there was a 20/20 Show showing a bpi injury as it occurred.

It seems as if no one want to touch us... hmmm wonder why?

As for Rosie.... NO THANKS...

Many of us have contacted Media and "Celeb's" and I guess will have to wait until a star has a baby with a bpi?
How sad would that be to have to have a child injured before you become interested in a good cause.

There was quite a bit of interest after the 20/20 show but then it died and after the Dr.Phil show.

I wish we had someone who has the public's attention and respect to speak for us.

Maybe Al Gore. If anyone has read his book about global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth" I think is the title, in writing about his early family life, when his son, Al, was about six years old he was hit by a car and sustained a "traumatic" BPI. This was not termed such in the book, but if you can get a copy and read it, sure sounds like one - He indicates that the nerves in the neck and shoulder of his son's right arm were damaged, and he had no use of his arm for about one year - Just a thought!
