- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

YES, CONGRATS, Frankie on the job!..and you to, MOm for staying out of his "work life". Believe me, it realy helps our sons mature faster when we let them handle that area of their life. It took awhile(8 yrs,) but my Scott has begun inviting me for certain personnel HR related meetings so we can banter options around at home & I found he respects my opinions. Surprise, surprise!

Ok I'm proud of myself I sent frankie off to work and even had has step dad drop him off so this way I wouldn't be compelled to go in and talk to the owner and possibly embarass him now I'm going to petfinder.com and look for a puppy. Mare

i think you should let him, if let his am get in the way of doing what he likes then that is just falling in the missarble trap of BP. I work 16 h a week on top of school and it is good to stay busy although i dont know how good his bad arm is, it always worth giving the job a shot

FYI,Patrick[ "pajm444'] is 15 yrs old, Frankie. I wish the Teen Meseage Board was up & running but folks are soooo busy to start it right now. Kep watching you guys. I learn sooo much from you guys. I hope you email each other..at least.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I feel for you it's so hard letting go of our cubs!
My mother taught me a very good life lesson.
She said " the best way to hold on to your children is with an open hand."
I'm glad I listened because I have three children and they have all chosen to live near us. We are so lucky to have all of our children and grandchildren so close by.
We wanted to protect them from every hurt but that's impossible and they will never learn to solve their problems. It's part of the learning curve we all have had to experience and the sooner we learn to deal with employers the better for us.
If a child never falls they never learn to get up and if they never fail they never learn from their own mistakes.
Frankie will handel HIS job in HIS way. If he is in trouble don't worry he will come to you sooner or later but it should be his choice.
He is still a kid and knows you are there for him.
Now go get that puppy, they require as much love an attention as you can possibly give. They love to be smothered with too much attention. LOL...LOL...
