Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

WELCOME TO UBPN,Lacey!!

Ohhhh yeah!!, there are several pain issues as we age. pain on our unafected limbs from over-use and compensation. I definitely have artheritis in my Left BPI wrist and fingers, also my left hip.Actualy my whole left side has pain at some times or another and across the small of my back. I could swear because our spines are all off kilter, without early interventions I never had because my OBPI/Erb's Palsy was never addressed until age 65 when I found this sight and a name other than "birth Injury".

FYI, I found pain relief in excercizing GENTLEYin a warm water pool at least 2 times a week and sitting in a Hot Tub for 15 minutes at a time. I'm sure now that the weekend is over others will "chime in" on this Topic too.

I am sooo glad you found us, Lacey :)

Welcome Lacey!
I am not the best to answer your other post but thought I would say hi! Hope that you are doing well and feel comfortable asking any questions you may have.

I am only 20 years old but have some experience with the pain stuff as well and the ganglion cyst. I developed pain at 13 and it got increasingly worse untl I had surgery in May and now I am pain free. At least in my right (bpi) shoulder.
The cyst I had was on my left wrist and wouldnt go away so I had it removed with surgery as it was hurting me during softball. I think it comes back and goes away now as it pleases.

Not sure if that helps or not.
Welcome to the group!
Hugs,
