Kinesiotape & Sleep

Is she oily? There is something called "NO Sting barrier" that can help both protect the skin from breakdown and allow things to stick better. We use in in a lot of elderly patients when we have to use dressings on pressure ulcers and thin easily torn skin. I haven't used it yet w/ Kayla because I keep forgetting it at work (BAD MOMMY!!) but hopefully next week I will remember. Also just wiping the skin with an alcohol swab can really help with sticking if the skin isn't too sensitive.

Just curious....When they tape Kayla's arm they use a white paper tape first then the Kinesio. Does anyone else do it this way?

I make sure that she has no lotions or oil on her skin prior to putting her kinesiotape on. I will run out and get some of the no sting liquid bandage today. Thanks.

We were not told to use white paper tape with kinesiotape, but have used that product before with a rigid tape. Unfortunately we also had a difficult time getting that tape to come off. Good luck.

when the white tape is used first it is not generally used with kinesiotape but Lueko tape. They are pretty different but both work well for pain relief. The Kinesio tape is less noticible to ther person as it moves very well with you. the Lueko tape is very much more rigid and noticible. I used the Kinesio tape and my older sister had used the Leuko tape and we both had pain relief but your could tell she was wearing the tape and unless you could see mine, you couldnt tell.
