a sample of my art homework

Post by hope16_05 »

Hey every one, I just thought I would share a sample of my art homework. I stayed away from all the art classes in high school because the teacher and I had issues (he was also my softball coach--lots of issues... but thats another story) So what I have discovered is that I really missed out and I love art! So I am taking a college drawing class to fill a gen ed requirement but I absolutely love it!!! So any way here is the link
http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd65 ... om%20pics/

the first pic in color is the baseline pic, what I based my drawing off of. The second pic in black and white is what I drew. We were given a black sheet of paper and white charcoal to draw with. Its not perfect but I am pretty happy with it, I never thought I would be able to draw like that!

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Kath,
That is my first piece that I am in love with. It is probably about my 10th drawing for that class though but most of the drawings were in class and she kept them. This one I got smart and took a picture of. I hope we get our other drawings back though, I never realized I could draw like that!

I will have to keep taking pics of my favorites and share them.

Thanks ladies!
Hugs,
Amy

Very neat! I would assume that you do get your work back at the end of the semester... At least I hope you do!
Keep taking pictures of them though.

Very nice Amy.
This new talent is a wonderful discovery.

Hmmm, want to illustrate the article you are writing for Outreach?
