I am now almost 11 weeks post surgery and doing awesome! Still 100% pain free and loving it! My arm is still weak but doing better overall! Now that my shoulder is in a better position I am not having to compensate as much to use my hand and new muscle sare being used. My OT says if I keep working hard that I might be able to use my fingers individually!!! I am getting there but its hard work.
This has been my miracle surgery! I cant wait to see what my doctor says when I see him on the 22nd. I will let you all know how that appointment goes but I wanted to share some exciting news for me. I never though I would be able to use my fingers seperate from one another. THey never used to work at all then as a group now maybe seperate. Very excited over here with all the new function I never thought this surgey would bring! I was just hoping for pain relief annd I have gotten so much more!
Thanks for letting me share this journey with you all!
Every one has been a great support to me!
Hugs,
Amy 20 years old ROBPI from MN

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Amy,
That is such great news!!! I am so happy for you and hope it continues to go well for you. Remember to do your PT. It really does work.
I felt my arm starting to tighten up a bit the last few months because I wasn't doing my stretches. SO, I joined this cross-fit work out center and it has done wonders. My fourth day the guy was pretty impressed with how much my arm had improved.
Believe it or not I have done ten pushups....not so great...I do feel the compensation but...ten push ups!!!
Woo hoo....it was exciting. I hope you can start doing the same with your new arm!!!
*HUGS* sure wish I could make it to camp this year but it's still not looking like it for me. *pout*
Talk to you soon.
Keep up the great work Amy!!
