Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.

Becky,
The difference is... When Days are Hot, we can have very cool nights in the foothills of Mt Rainier where Camp 2007 will be. Oh yeah, it may rain too on Labor Day weekend Watch the weather for washington State on the internet the week before, we usually know that far ahead.

In Philadelphia and Washington DC the nights never cooled down, it stayed h-o-t & muggie until later in Sepember and sometimes into October. That was MY life for 12 years. :)

Hope to see & HUG you at Camp, Becky!

Well, I am hoping to come to camp. Unfortunately our school (my job) starts two days before Labor Day weekend. Grrr....I am hoping to leave Friday after work but it's about a ten hour drive. I sure do not want to miss camp this year. Kayla wants to come with me again and I would honestly love for her to come. However, I really feel as if I should come by myself this year. I just know I would get more out of it. Sounds selfish I know but I missed out on a lot of the adult panels. We'll see what happens.

So I should know for sure by the beginning of next week. I can't wait to see everyone!!!

OH by the way....it does cool down in Seattle, but most of all I would tell people to bring a Umbrella. It tends to get a lot of rainfall there. Sweater & Umbrella. It is a beautiful State though.

Amy,
I will know by the end of today. I'm trying to swing something for Friday so I can have a driving day. I know...I can't wait to see everyone. It's so exciting isn't it.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Now I'll have to twist myself up like a pretzel so that both you and Rachel will come.

I really, really hope you can come.
I look forward to meeting you after all these years.
