anyone heard from amy

Post by rachelcasa »

Hello all

I was just wondering how Amy is doing and how her surgery went. I have not seen anything regarding her surgery. Kayla and I just returned from a mother/daughter trip to Disneyland/Seaworld. Boy did we sure have a great time.

I'll keep checking back but if anyone knows how Amy is doing will you please let me know.

Thanks,
Rachel

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Rachel!
Nice to hear from you!!! I am doing great, hopefully one one week left in my splint, my follow up appt is on the 26th. I cant wait! I want to be allowed to see what I can do! So far, I havent had any ofthe "normal" pain that I have had since I was 13 so that part of the surgery has been a huge success, I hope it stays that way!
I have gotten a little more feeling in muscles I dont normally feel, like my triceps, so lets hope that sticks around too and I get a little more extension from that.

The scars look great so far, they will need a bit of scar massage but thats not at all my favorite thing to do! So that can wait until I am in therapy.

If you want to read my journal theres a full re-cap of my surgery and then in the photo album, there is a picture. www.freewebs.com/bpimn
Which reminds me, I should post another update but I might do that after I get home from my appt. next week.

Thanks for asking about me! Sounds like you had fun with Kayla! Was that a trip just because you wanted to go or was it an actual organized mother daughter event? Either way sounds way too cool!

Hugs,
Amy
