Well I guess the MRI was good news! Has there been an EMG yet? Matt had many negative MRI's of the bp, but the EMG shows it all. There is also another type of MRI done in alot of mental hospitals MR neurogram, from what we were told it will show how much the nerve is stretched and where.
The best advice is find a bp expert! We messed around with local drs for almost a year with no answers, After seeing 2 BP experts we have 2 drs that both agree on the same things wrong!
Best of luck

MRI sounds promising. But I do agree with Beth, I would see a BPI specialist. Dustin also had no avulsions. He did have scar tissue removed. Then they closed it up and told us the best recovery would be time and therapy. He is now 19 mos post accident. He has had considerable improvement although no functional movement. Try to get your husband in the water if possible. Dustin can move much better there and this helps with strengthening. He is still facing a muscle transfer as the bicep is firing but not strengthening enough to move in gravity. Shoulder, triceps and scapula are pretty good. So, hoping with gracilis the arm will be functional.

We had an EMG and nerve conduction study prior to the plexsus MRI, so they have been able to evaluate that.
I'm hoping that once he is completely out of the back brace they can get him the water, although he has made some functional progress in his bicep, just nothing in the hand yet.
Still not sure how we can work the BP specialist, none in our state and with him not working for the past 3 months we're struggling financially to be able to make the Mayo trip even if we could get the referral authorized, still trying to figure out how it would work.
